Hello!
I’m Mark, and I’m an engineering student at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. Growing up, I was blessed with the opportunity to snorkel with Honu on several occasions. Their peaceful majesty created a lasting bond with me. It saddens me that these peaceful giants are critically endangered. In fact, fewer than 100 nesting females are left in all of Hawai’i.
During my first year at Westmont, the college president encouraged us to “think for yourself, live for others”. I realized the importance of every voice being heard. But what if those who need help had no voice? That is why I started this organization. The Honu Shirt Company is just a small but impactful way I can help the Honu be heard!
My shirts are made of recycled plastic bottles blended with organic cotton. Then, they are hand finished in my home state of California. And the best part? 100% of net profits are donated to the Hawai’i Wildlife Fund to help sea turtles!
